A great modern writer is dead. 
John Fowles has died. The writer of The French Lieutenant’s Woman and The Magus is one of twentieth century’s greats. Time magazine chose TFLW among the 100 best novels from 1923 to the present. We loved it when it became a movie with Meryl Streep.
